Introducing The Complete Founder
A new direction with a clear vision
This is a bit of a different article, and the beginning of a new era for this newsletter, which I’m rebranding and repositioning as The Complete Founder 🚀
A resource and community for entrepreneurs that want to build technology solutions regardless of their background.
I’ve been part of the build in public community for a little over 4 months now, and I’ve seen two big trends:
Tech founders, amazing developers, creating great products that end up forgotten and dismissed because they don’t know how to build and attract an audience.
Non-tech founders with amazing ideas that know how to navigate digital media and rally people around their vision, but lack the technical skills to make it a reality.
This is of course, nothing new. This dynamic dates back to the very origins of tech entrepreneurship and it’s the reason why most startups usually have two cofounders; a CEO and a CTO.
But finding a cofounder is not easy.
And unless you already have found the perfect partner organically, embarking in such a challenging journey with someone you don’t really know is scary and often disastrous.
However, the world is changing.
And I believe the AI revolution is going to bring a technology renaissance that’s going to make it easier than ever to build solo startups.
As a former Head of Product to two startups I might be biased. But there is a reason why venture capitalists love former product leaders to lead new startups. It’s because they merge both business and tech pragmatically and efficiently.
I always refer to Product as the bridge between business and technology. It’s a role that’s hybrid in its very nature. And it can come to be because a business person learns to understand technology. Or because a technology person learns to understand business.
With the rise of Artificial Intelligence is getting easier than ever to accelerate that hybrid understanding and make it actionable.
It has never been more accessible to become a solo founder because technology is allowing new and exciting ways to better manage the balance between business and technology.
It’s the best time to become a Complete Founder.
I’m a non-technical founder with over 7 years of experience in digital advertising and product leadership that has big and exciting ideas I want to make a reality.
And I have realized there’s a void when it comes to resources that help with the two biggest battles of any solo founder; product and audience building.
Juggling product development and audience building is the struggle of a lifetime. And I’ve seen many creator educators talk about one thing or the other. But I haven’t seen anybody talk about how to do it all, how to merge these two often conflicting realities, and not go crazy in the process.
Admittedly, I think a little craziness unavoidable 😬.
But we know what we are getting into when we chose this insanely counterintuitive path.
It’s not comfortable.
It’s not safe.
When we choose this, it is almost mandatory to throw all logic out the window and embrace delusion 😅.
But no breakthroughs were made in history by being reasonable.
Breakthroughs become reality, because some people are crazy enough to dare to dream them into reality.
And hear me out. I don’t claim to know all the answers.
I literally just started this journey 4 months ago.
But I’m a big believer in learning by doing.
I believe every single founder has to adhere to the beginner’s mindset and pave their own path.
But that doesn’t mean we have to do it alone.
And that’s why I want to document my learnings as I become a Complete Founder, and inspire others to do the same. Creating resources and a community for all solo founders who struggle to do it all.
Some of my lessons will come from former experience as a successful digital marketer and product leader. And some others will come from overcoming the new battles I face as I learn how to code and build as fast as possible with the help of AI, no-code, low-code, and boilerplates.
So this newsletter will cover:
How to build a product 🏗️
How to build an audience 📢
How to not lose your mind while you try 🧘♂️
And it be structured in two publications.
Fresh on Mondays you will get three short actionable or inspirational ideas and tips on each of the three topics; product, marketing, and sanity.
I want you to start your week with the right motivation and kickstart the necessary momentum for you to succeed.
Each week is a new opportunity to stop, re-assess, and improve.
Every other Friday you will get a deep dive article to better tackle the many problems you will face in your complete founder journey.
These will focus on efficiency, automation, and scalability, making sure each of them teaches you how to integrate processes and build systems to streamline your work and take you to the next level.
These are biweekly publications because they take time to be researched, applied, and learned.
I know this is a big change from what my newsletter originally promised.
But since I’ve been writing about the drive to create, I figured this premise could still be relevant to most of you.
If not. It’s been a pleasure having you among my readers.
But it’s time for me to move forward and align my content with my long-term vision.
I’m excited for this new chapter and I will be thrilled to have you come along.
Creating something new is incredibly hard.
Doing it alone is harder.
But we can be smarter.
Let’s become Complete Founders! 🚀
